I have proudly lived in Gooshays ward for 17 years, deeply involved in supporting our local community. With a professional background as a teacher and now a businesswoman, I bring a balanced mix of education, leadership, and hands-on service to this role.
With the growing Asian community, I want to be a voice for all residents, especially those who face cultural or language barriers.
I am fluent in several Asian languages, allowing me to communicate effectively and represent the community with understanding and care.
I believe in action, inclusion, and opportunity for all, and I am ready to serve Gooshays as a committed, approachable, and effective councillor. I am here to listen and deliver.

As a school governor, I have worked closely with staff and leadership teams to improve teaching quality, curriculum delivery, and pupil outcomes. I was part of the journey that helped raise a school’s Ofsted rating from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’.
Beyond governance, I also supported the school community in meaningful ways—for example, by organising Christmas gifts for 80 less-privileged children at Pyrgo School, making sure every child felt valued and included.
My background in education is key to supporting young families and ensuring the best outcomes for our children in Gooshays. The future of our community lies in our schools.

In my current role as the first female Secretary of the Lions Club, Romford, I lead and support a number of community-driven initiatives:
These initiatives ensure we are actively supporting the local community:
The Lions Club work demonstrates my commitment to active, tangible community service beyond politics. Every initiative aims to improve local safety and wellbeing.

My two key areas of focus are youth empowerment and women’s support.
I believe that giving our young people safe, productive environments helps reduce antisocial behaviour and builds stronger futures.
My work with the Lions Club focuses heavily on promoting youth clubs to keep young people engaged, off the streets, and away from negative influences.
This focus is about providing opportunity and security for the next generation in Gooshays.
I am passionate about supporting women facing domestic abuse, especially in communities where it is rarely spoken about.
I aim to break down barriers to seeking help and ensure resources are accessible to all women in need.
I aim to create access to English language learning for those whose first language is not English—boosting their confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
Empowerment through education and safety, allowing women to access employment and support networks more easily.
I will work tirelessly to bring resources and attention to these critical demographic areas. Empowering the vulnerable creates a stronger community for all.

I am also proud to promote Labour values and policies on social media, helping raise awareness and build trust within the community, ensuring our message reaches all residents.
I actively participate in Labour-backed community events, working alongside and supported by prominent MPs and local leaders such as Ms Seema Malhotra, Mr Stephen Timms, Mr James Asser, and Ms Deirdre Costigan.
I’m also delighted to be selected as a CLP delegate to attend the upcoming Annual Labour Conference 2025 in Liverpool, demonstrating my deep engagement with the party structure.
